“Why tractors without violins?” — San Ramón Expands Their Cultural Center

The José Figueres Cultural Center has reopened for business.  The center is dedicated to one of the legends of Costa Rica.  Figueres is most famous for abolishing the army and giving women the right to vote.  A recent special article in the Tico Times highlights the equal dedication “Don Pepe” had to music, art, and poetry — believing that a country’s progress is intimately tied to its cultural advancement.  The newly expanded cultural center dedicated to Figueres is located on the site of his childhood home and can be found on the north side of the church in the center of town.  To read the full Tico Times article CLICK HERE
